Description
Beginners Screen Printed Fused Glass Workshop – 10.30am – 4pm – £85 per person.
Crafts in the Valley offers a range of Fused Glass and Textile Workshops at the Creative Chameleon Studio in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
In this workshop you will be introduced to Screen Printing, the process of transferring images through a silk screen with enamels onto your glass pieces. These images can then be layered with other fused glass materials to add colour and texture to your work. You will be able to choose from an exciting selection of pre-made screens with images of meadows (flowers, seed heads and grasses) , insects (bees, butterflies and dragonflies), other nature inspired images and patterns. You will also have access to a range of coloured frits, bubble powders, metals for entrapment and glass jewels. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to experiment with top quality materials and experience the magic of screen printing and glass fusing all in one workshop!
By the end of the day you will have made 2 coasters, a slump dish, a lightcatcher with a tealight holder and two pieces of jewellery. Your glass work will be fired and available to collect 2-3 weeks later.
This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing and peaceful day of creativity. It is a fantastic workshop experience, which allows participants to be introduced to the wonderful world of glass fusing and screen printing all in one day! The techniques used are easy to pick up and you will create a range of beautiful glass items that can be treasured or given away as special gifts.
In the studio you will have access to an exciting range of top quality materials and equipment; screen prints, coloured frit powders, bubble powder, metals for entrapment, jewels, stringers and much more!
I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative day out. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoying meeting friendly, new people. I host hen dos, crafty parties, retirement parties and family and friend gatherings.
The workshops are run from the light and airy Creative Chameleon studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
