Description

Festive Fused Glass 2026.  It is the season to sparkle!

Capturing Winter Light – Light-catcher workshop: Half Day – £65

A busy festive workshop giving guests the opportunity to create three glass light-catchers in various sizes. In the studio you will have access to an exciting range of top quality materials and equipment; coloured frit powders, jewels, stringers, confetti, millefiori, bubble powder, metal inclusions, sparkly glitter flakes, and stencils to create patterns and designs.  This class does not involve glass cutting.

This workshop is ideal for those who want to create a collection of beautiful glass pieces which can be Christmas themed or suitable for all year round.  You can treasure your pieces or give them away as lovely handmade Christmas gifts…. If you can bear to part with them!

What will I make?

  • A hanging glass light-catcher or hanging glass Christmas tree.
  • A glass panel or Christmas tree tealight (7cm x 13cm).
  • A tall glass panel (8cm x 18cm) or free-standing arch (12cm x 15cm).

What is included?

  • All glass materials and kiln firing.
  • One glass tealight or wooden block for small panel/tree piece
  • Festive sweet treats, mulled wine, teas and real coffee.

I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative day out. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoy meeting friendly, new people.

The workshops are run from my light and airy studio on Thornber Business Park in the rural setting of Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or to stay for the weekend.  Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
