Description
Festive Fused Glass. It is the season to sparkle!
Sparkly Christmas Decorations and Jewellery – Modelling Glass. Half day (3hr) workshop – £65
Discover the alchemy of working with Modelling Glass! In this workshop you will make six hanging glass decorations, choose from stars, hearts, toadstools, snowflakes, stockings, flowers, toadstools, baubles, Christmas trees and more! This year there will also be the option to create pieces of jewellery.
Please note, there will be a small charge for jewellery fittings – pendants/brooches/keyrings/
Your glasswork will be made out of Modelling Glass, a new form of glass which uses bullseye frit powders and binding agents to create a clay like material which is lots of fun to work with. Once fired it returns to a glass form. It’s quite magical! Your glass pieces can be decorated with iridescent dichroic glass, stringers, jewels and millefiori to create lovely glass decorations.
You may choose to keep your glass creations up all year round, or they can be brought out at Christmas to add extra sparkle to your Christmas tree! This workshop doesn’t involve any glass scoring or cutting, the glass shapes are created with cookie cutters and stamps. You will decorate your hanging decorations as you wish using top quality bullseye glass materials.
I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative day out. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoy meeting friendly, new people.
The workshops are run from my light and airy studio on Thornber Business Park in the rural setting of Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or to stay for the weekend. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
