Description
Christmas Circles – Create two pieces of glasswork (15cm diameter). A decorative piece in a wooden stand, and a circular slumped plate.
Workshop Dates: Saturday 29th November – 9.30am – 12.30pm & Sunday 7th December 2pm – 5pm
You may choose to keep your glass creations up all year round, or they can be brought out at Christmas to add extra sparkle to your home!
In this workshop you will firstly learn how to cut a circle out of glass, lots of help and support is available. You can decorate your glasswork as you wish using top quality glass materials and exciting decorative techniques. You can choose to create Christmas designs or create glasswork that is suitable for all year round. You will have access to a large range of stencils, coloured frits, stringers, bubble powders, metals for entrapment, stencils, glass jewels and much more!
One of your circles can be displayed on an Oak wooden stand which is included in the workshop price. The second circle can be slumped into a dish mould to make a functional plate, perfectly sized for a mince pie and a slice of cheese! There is the option to slump both circles, or purchase a second Oak stand.
Your finished glasswork will be available to collect 1-2 weeks later.
This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing creative experience where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of fused glass. I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups. They are enjoyed by art and craft lovers, beginners and more experienced crafters. Many guests come to experience new art and craft forms, or to simply enjoy a creative day out.
Crafts in the Valley workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoy meeting nice, friendly people! I host hen dos, crafty parties, retirement parties and family and friend gatherings. Gift Vouchers are available for all workshops. The Stencil and Frit classes are very suitable for beginners and children aged 8+. Young people must be accompanied by an participating adult.
The workshops are run from the light and airy Crafts in the Valley studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, perfect for pre-Christmas treats and shopping! It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
