Description

Fused Glass Jewellery Workshop – AM and PM classes – £65 per person.

Crafts in the Valley offers a range of Fused Glass and Textile Workshops at the Crafts in the Valley Studio in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

In this workshop you will learn how to cut and shape glass.  You will work with a selection of bullseye and dichroic glass to make a range of different pieces of jewellery.  We will use layering and entrapment methods to create beautiful effects, and I will be introducing a new technique using modelling glass (glass clay) to create different shaped jewellery pieces.  You will have access to top quality materials which will enable you to make fabulous jewellery.

What will I make?

  • 2 bullseye and dichroic pendants (or keyrings/brooches)
  • 1 set of bullseye and dichroic earrings (round or drop)
  • 2 modeling glass pendants (or keyrings/brooches)
  •  1 x modeling glass earrings

If you would prefer to make earrings, rather than pendants, you can pay £4 extra for the cost of silver earring hooks. If you would like to make any extra pieces on the day, pendants are £8, earrings are £12.

All other materials, jewellery fittings, firing and refreshments are included in the workshop price. Your glasswork will be fired and ready to collect 1-2 weeks after the workshop.

This workshop is ideal for those who love sparkly glass and unique jewellery. It is a fantastic workshop experience, which allows participants to be introduced to the wonderful world of glass fusing. The techniques used are easy to pick up and you will create a range of beautiful jewellery that can be treasured or given away as special gifts.

I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative experience. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoying meeting friendly, new people.  I host hen dos, crafty parties, retirement parties and family and friend gatherings.

The workshops are run from the light and airy Crafts in the Valley studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
