Hebden Bridge Arts Festival – Trouser Town

We had a great couple of weekends enjoying Hebden Bridge Arts Festival http://hebdenbridgeartsfestival.co.uk/.  The town was buzzing with the festival, Open Studios and the Alternative Christmas.  It is so heart warming to see the town filled with fun, music, laughter and colour after the flooding.  It’s an incredibly inspiring town.  If you haven’t been, then defiantly come and visit!

The bunting workshop on the craft boat was a great success. We has lots of visitors of all ages come and help make the funky trouser washing lines that were hung on boats and in the marina.

I heard on the grapevine that next years theme might be “water”!?

White sands, pink skies! Felting for Open Studios.

A felt landscape, almost finished, ready for Hebden Bridge Open Studios.
This piece is inspired by Scottish sunsets and the fabulous felting artist Moy Mackay.  http://www.moymackaygallery.com/.
It’s also an example of what you can learn to do during my full day felting workshops.  This piece is created using wet felting and more detail is added using free motion machine embroidery and needle felting.  I’ve recently invested in a new sewing machine and it’s amazing! I love using the free motion embroidery foot to add detail and texture to the fabric.
I’ll be doing demonstrations during Open Studios so pop down to the Floating Pop Up Gallery! xx
