Open Studios on the craft boat.
WELCOME TO HEBDEN BRIDGE OPEN STUDIOS 2016
It’s looking beautiful, filled with gorgeous creations, made by Melanie Louise, Heidi Vilkman, Ruthie Francis and Suzy Blue.
A floating treasure trove!

My dear friend Suzy will be bring some of her magical weaving and print work to Hebden Bridge Open Studios this weekend. Her work is inspired by nature, water, colour and light. She uses contemporary materials to weave sculptural forms. I’m really excited to have her exhibit her unique work on the craft boat!

Fabulous Trouser Town bunting fun!
A lovely, sunshine filled day for Hebden Bridge Arts Festival.
Thanks to my boaty neighbour Lou for this great photo and for all the help and smiles people brought to the workshop today!

We had a great couple of weekends enjoying Hebden Bridge Arts Festival http://hebdenbridgeartsfestival.co.uk/. The town was buzzing with the festival, Open Studios and the Alternative Christmas. It is so heart warming to see the town filled with fun, music, laughter and colour after the flooding. It’s an incredibly inspiring town. If you haven’t been, then defiantly come and visit!
The bunting workshop on the craft boat was a great success. We has lots of visitors of all ages come and help make the funky trouser washing lines that were hung on boats and in the marina.
I heard on the grapevine that next years theme might be “water”!?
A felt landscape, almost finished, ready for Hebden Bridge Open Studios.
This piece is inspired by Scottish sunsets and the fabulous felting artist Moy Mackay. http://www.moymackaygallery.com/.
It’s also an example of what you can learn to do during my full day felting workshops. This piece is created using wet felting and more detail is added using free motion machine embroidery and needle felting. I’ve recently invested in a new sewing machine and it’s amazing! I love using the free motion embroidery foot to add detail and texture to the fabric.
I’ll be doing demonstrations during Open Studios so pop down to the Floating Pop Up Gallery! xx

Here are a few photos from 2015, last year’s Open Studios event on the craft boat.
Can’t wait to create a beautiful floating gallery space this year with Ruthie Frances, Suzy Blue and Heidi Vilkman.
We’ll be exhibiting some fabulous textiles, woodcraft, jewellery and paper cut work. Lots of gorgeous and affordable arts and crafts.
1st, 2nd and 3rd July 11am to 5pm at The Marina in Hebden Bridge.
