Description
Fused Glass Wave Workshop – AM (9.30am – 12.30pm) and PM (2pm – 5pm) £70 per person.
Crafts in the Valley offers a range of Fused Glass and Textile Workshops at the Crafts in the Valley Studio in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
In the Fused Glass Wave workshop you will then experiment with a range of materials and techniques to decorate your glass, which will be fired in the kiln and slumped on a mould to create your beautiful free standing wave. These waves look lovely lit up against a window or with candles or LED fairy lights behind them. In the studio you will have access to an exciting range of top quality materials and equipment; coloured frit powders, bubbles powder, metal for entrapment, jewels, stringers, dichroic glass, stencils and much more!
As an extra treat you will also make a set of dichroic glass jewellery. Two pieces of jewellery, you can choose to make pendants, earrings, brooches, keyrings, cufflinks or rings.
This workshop is ideal for those who fancy a relaxing creative experience where you will be introduced to the wonderful world of glass. This workshop is suitable for beginners.
I offer these workshops to individuals and private groups, they are designed for art and craft lovers, beginners or experienced crafters, and for those who simply want to enjoy a creative day out. The workshops have proved popular with mothers and daughters, couples, families and friends who wish to spend some quality creative time together. Lots of participants come on their own and enjoying meeting friendly, new people. I host hen dos, crafty parties, retirement parties and family and friend gatherings.
The workshops are run from the light and airy Crafts in the Valley studio in Cragg Vale, Mytholmroyd, the neighbouring town to Hebden Bridge in the Calder Valley. The Calder Valley is a great place to visit or make a weekend of it if you are travelling far. Hebden Bridge is a quirky town filled with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It is well known for its exciting art, craft and alternative music scene. It is also a great place if you enjoy nature, walking and exploring the countryside.
